ITC Disk Builder
This is the Disk Builder program. Think of this as a very simple and lightweight version of InstallShield or InstallAnywhere. Due to our product delivery constraints (diskette delivery of a multimedia product) we needed a way to generate very small software installers. In this case, smaller was better!
Here is an example of an ITC Installer that was generated by Disk Builder -- simple and small! The entire installer program (minus content to be installed) was about 30 kilobytes in size. Disk Builder included a proprietary decompression capability -- sort of like WinZip.
